I'm going to try for the 1% challenge this year as well, so I'm hoping to get in a lot of reading. My main problem is I'm studying too, so I have to do a lot of academic reading. I'll include some of that, because there are a lot of interesting books that I read for Development Studies. I haven't thought out my list properly yet, but here's a start:
Stuffed and Starved by Raj Patel
1215 The Year of Magna Carta by Danny Danziger and John Gillingham
Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson
The System of the World by Neal Stephenson
City of God by E.L. Doctorow for the 1% challenge
After the Quake by Haruki Murakami for the 1% challenge
Amsterdam by Ian McEwan for the 1% challenge
