An Orphan of the Light by Frank Scozzari

"A young woman haunted by a riddle from her past befriends an L.A.P.D. Detective who is obsessed with an old case involving a woman who committed suicide off the Hollywood Sign. Together they unravel the past, which sets the young woman on an ill-fated plan of revenge."

The story moves at a fast pace, with engaging dialog, attention to detail and intriguing characters. With references to the real life tragedy of Peg Entwistle, a young actress who plummeted to her death by jumping of the Hollywood sign in 1932.

Detective Garrett Connelly becomes intrigued by a case in 1979, where a young Actress (Nora Sims) fell to her death off the Hollywood sign. He starts investigating, was this a murder or suicide?

When he sees a striking young woman (Moira) who resembles Nora, He is determined to get answers. Moira is mysterious, secretive, intriguing. They form a friendship. Slowly secrets begin to surface, as Garrett races against time to (try) to stop a disaster from happening.

A fascinating, hauntingly tragic story that had me engrossed from the first page until the end. Overall I found this to be a very enjoyable read and highly recommend.
