Conferences - In Person or Virtual?

Is anyone attending any in person or virtual conferences?

I decided not to attend the virtual NGS because I'm really tired of Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.

I host weekly Zoom gatherings for a group of alumni from the University of Tasmania's Diploma of Family History. I can understand your reluctance to do more Zoom gatherings.

Australia's National Archives and National Library both host zoom sessions that are short and single topic presentations. I find these much easier to slot into the day's activities by comparison to something like RootsTech (timing is difficult to juggle - 3am AEST is not conducive to good learning!)

I will be attending in person Connections 2025 (https://www.connections2025.org.au/ ) in March - a 4 day conference in Brisbane, Australia.

In person Conferences allow for connections (no pun intended) to be formed with fellow genealogists whom you may only know through reputation or from your Zoom screen...in a country the size of Australia, its a special part of these events.

Both formats have their place.
