Any other thoughts, comments or questions about the first section?

The first section is fast paced and has me hooked.

I have always liked this series, although sometimes I wanted to kill Tony myself...or at least cause him great bodily harm:)

Very readable and with some likeable characters and some not so much. Tony is a fascinating mix of empathetic police officer and somewhat hapless boyfriend.

It almost feels as if Tony drifts through life and needs to take more control of things.

I suspect McLean may be approaching burn-out. He’s had many a near miss with evil in the past few years.
