Was Tony heartless and insensitive questioning the parents when they’d just identified the body of their son at the morgue?

Possibly insensitive, but not too intrusive. The parents were willing to answer him. And I think he’d have backed off if they shown signs of distress.

I think the questions had to be asked and overall I think he handled it as well as he could. It could be seen as insensitive but he had a role to perform, and I think it helped them to talk about him. In that situation surely they would want to know he was doing everything to catch the killer.
