Not in the "famous" realm, but my mother, who lived to be 90+, who was a pianist and voice teacher, had just tried out for the lead in the Easter cantata, and got it, on the day she passed. She had just gotten home and called her friend, and down she went with a massive brain bleed which killed her instantly She was 90+ and still lived on her own, drove, and wore 3 inch heels to church! When people asked her how she did it: 1) keep moving, for if you stop, you will stop! 2) After age 80, nap for 2 hours per day 3) don't drink or smoke

And btw......she ate fast food DAILY! She was also not overly overweight. She retired at age 78.

>2 Tess_W: I love your mom's "rules!" She reminds me of a few of the 90-year-olds in my community.

Ángeles Flórez Peón died at 105; at 104 she ran for office. (The obit says she was “the oldest Socialist candidate on the ballot”, which makes me wonder if there was an older candidate from another party!)

You don’t become cooler with age, but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool. Call it the geezers paradox.
