5 GraceCollection : Rainbow 4 You will want Dewey numbers.
9 GraceCollection : Rainbow 4:I admit I had to 'shop around' a little, as there are a few Dewey decimals which apply. To give away a little bit more, the term "theory" gave me a hint - I added a 0 at the end .

>2 humouress: Still stymied on #4, Nina. I am also wondering where you added this zero?
I suspect that the answer isan MDS number, likely 306 . However, I tried a few tagmashes which always led to Problem page answers. Can you add a stronger tag mash clue? Or is a tagmash not the right way to go?
I suspect that the answer is

>3 SandyAMcPherson: I just copy and paste (with spoiler tags) the hints that people post in the Talk page. The post you're referring to is the 9th on that thread, by GraceCollection. You could ask them on that thread. I haven't found this one yet, myself (though I tend to spread my hunting over the two weeks).
Or, hopefully, people who've found the answers will come and post hints here.

46 bnielsen : I spent a lot of time thinking that it was not straightforward :-)
you find it somewhere under https://www.librarything.com/mds/3 Is that where you are looking?

You are going in a correct direction. All you have to do is to narrow down a bit further. Think about the theme of this Treasure Hunt. I started to blitzing one category by another from this point. The added 0 GraceCollection was talking about is the last digit of the MDS number.

I did it the other way around; I searched for a book titled 'queer theory' and then looked at its MDS number on its work page and worked upwards from that until I hit it. It wasn't the first book on the list that came up, though, that gave me my rainbow.

>7 humouress: it took me awhile but I eventually went that route as well!

>5 humouress: >6 Yamanekotei: I decided to type in increasing MDS 306.76_ numbers starting at zero and eventually hit the correct numeral. Very strange, because I did not get the category needed when I typed in the hunt category words in the MDS search using google . Finally have all the rainbows... it was a difficult hunt for me this year! Member bnielsen was also very helpful, so thanks all.

sorry, some of those WAS the rainbow, I might have missed it, but it's counted now, the clues work just fine :D

86 Aquila : Rainbow 4 You aren't looking for a book, you're just looking for a one word classification.

{Sorry - missed this one before) : 58 GraceCollection : I gave this hint before, but for Rainbow 4 you are looking for a specific Dewey decimal number. It is not directly on the page that was linked by 46 bnielsen: (>5 humouress:), so randomly clicking everything on that page will not work. You will actually have to look in the different categorizations for the correct number, but it is under the 300s class .
132 atozgrl : For #4, see message #5 above (>2 humouress:) for a starting hint. If you are having trouble findingthe exact number you need in the classification , you can try googling dewey decimal classification for lgbtq to find it. Then just drill down through the classification until you get to that number .
159 Aquila : Rainbow 4. You cansearch MDS classifications directly from search but you'll want to simplify your search to one word .
152 tammyhennig : I'm having trouble with this one as well. I even entered the numbers306.76 but still no luck. :( I went to https://www.librarything.com/mds and clicked on 3 but the problem is I don't recognize most of those titles and which ones are related to queer. Maybe I am doing this wrong?
160 atozgrl : See what 152 tammyhennig: says, andclick down one more level. See also 9 GraceCollection: (>2 humouress:) for additional help.

This is my last one. I think I'm on the page trying to "drill down" to where I need to be, but I'm second guessing since I obviously haven't yet clicked on the right one!
ETA: Got it now! Started off and got slightly off-track somewhere along the way!
