Creating a TinyCat assignment for library school students

I'm an instructor teaching Library Systems and Information Design to Lib Tech students. For part of the course we talk about OPAC and ILS features, including selection and configuration criteria. I'd like to give my students an assignment to choose a small library (real or imaginary,) create a requirements document, and then set up a sample system meeting those requirements using LibraryThing and TinyCat.

Has anyone done something similar and have any suggestions or advice for me? Any gotchas I should look out for?
