Easton Press Dracula - illustration

I’m a little confused by the illustrations in the 2005(?) Easton Press Dracula. In this YouTube review, at 4:49 it shows art by Patrick J Jones, yet all the second-hand copies I see advertised only show the Stoker image and not the Jones image. Was this image limited to just a few copies?
Here’s the video link:

It is probably in all of them, the sellers just don't photograph it. Ask one of them to look for it and see. It may cling to the preceding page and doesn't flop open to it naturally and so isn't noticed.

After looking more carefully, I see it is noted on the title page on the one in the video but I don't see it noted on very many for sale on ebay, but you should be able to find one to buy with it by looking at the title page.

Probably a case of first release and then the next release they wanted to save money and took it out.

Interesting, as you’d think it’d be something to show in an eBay listing. I’ll check with a seller and see if it’s there.

Most of the sellers show the title page, so just check those on the listings and you will see it notated there.

Just find the ones with the Frontispiece notation.

>2 Wootle: It was bonus front piece artwork created for the 13-volume set of Classics of Horror that was subsequently removed in newer 100 Greatest Books Ever Written/The Greatest Books Ever Written perhaps due to agreements with artists. Easton Press normally never does two front pieces...

It was lazy of Easton Press; however, not to remove The Greatest Books Ever Written series line from the title page, which creates confusion between a series and a set and makes completing the latter on a secondary market a bit challenging.

I remember that set was always in great demand. So this is a good little detail to look out for when collecting it, make sure you have the versions with the specially commissioned frontispiece.

>8 Wootle: Well-curated set to add. The only thing that was missing was a some sort of horror style enclosure/slipcase to hold the set (coffin-shaped perhaps ;P). One of the big mistakes was corner cutting with covers and front pieces. Instead of creating a new cover design like for Phantom, Easton Press reused the same for Dracula, Frankenstein and added front pieces without removing the original front pieces or Greatest reference. To Easton's credit at least, they changed the color of Frankenstein leather to dark green instead of regular black.
