It looks like this is a reprint of a previously published edition. And according to the description on amazon, that one was abridged.

They might have added more illustrations, though, here it says 50 instead of 70

>4 SF-72: Ah, that seems unfortunate. That is, it might be an imported book that EP then rebound. They have done that in the past. However, I've never known them to sign such an edition. So maybe that's not the case? If anyone purchases this edition please let us know!

This is another in the signed-by-the -illustrator DLE series, and they are never reprints. I’ve ordered a copy and will let you know if I’m wrong.

That would be interesting.
It may not be re-bound (hopefully) but the illustrations have definitely been used in another edition before. Maybe they added to them?

My copy arrived today, and you are correct. It is not in the signed-by-the-illustrator DLE series. The first clue is that there is no slipcase. It is also smaller than most volumes in the series, although a few others have also been small. Nevertheless, it is a DLE, limited to 800, and it is signed by Ingpen.
The issue of printing and binding is somewhat confusing, at least to me. The copyright page says it is published in the UK in 2017 by Palazzo Editions Ltd. after first being published in the U.K. in 2006 by Templar Publishing. However, it also specifies that it was printed and bound in China by Imago. This, despite the statement on EP’s webpage that it was bound in the USA using imported materials.

Thank you, that's good to know. It reminds me of their edition of The Mabinogion illustrated by Alan Lee. At first I thought it would fit to their DLEs of other old works like Beowulf or The Edda, but it definitely didn't.

>8 jroger1: yeah, by "bound in the USA" they mean that the leather cover and bookmark are bound by Easton.
