I've finally learned how to combine but came across this message; unsure on how to proceed.

Since the second work is not involved in any series, just go ahead and combine.
The problems start if there are series on the second work, as you would need to take note of them and get them back onto the combined work.
There are a few other warnings that may come up. They are not to stop you from combining, but to slow you down and make sure you are doing 'the right thing'. For example, it can seem obvious at first to combine two books with the same title if one of them is missing an author, bur you'd be surprised at some of the titles that have been used by lots of different authors.
So if you get a warning, read it. Check your works again if you need to. If you still think they need combining, go for it.

BTW, I noticed that the only regular series was a Danish one, and included a book by Joseph Campbell. Unlikely that all copies would belong there if the book was combined with its English copies. I changed the series to publishers series. I also did the research to find the original title, and did the combining. However, the Danish title was the second one, and yes, I then had to add it back into the publishers series. A bit of work, but none of it difficult.
If you find situations like this, you will need that warning. Feel free to shout if any of those steps are beyond your current capabilities. But it's mostly taking it slowly and carefully.
