Hello TC users
I have someone who wants to be sure to get a particular book when it is returned by the patron who has checked it out, but the option to put a hold on it isn't available.
I can't even put a hold on it for them.
What is needing to be fixed to make "Hold" actually work?
Thanks in advance for your help with this.
Blessings,
Bevianne

My understanding is that is not how holds work in TinyCat. A book can have a single status at a time, so there isn't a proper hold queue in TinyCat.
I just recently started using LibraryThing and TinyCat. I was hoping for a hold queue for my classroom library, too. Since TinyCat doesn't do that, I think I will be fine using LibraryThing without TinyCat.

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for my delay in seeing this!
@jwindisch is correct, our "Place Hold" buttons don't function like a queue, but rather as a status (alongside a notification) that tells your librarian(s) to pull that item from the shelf and set it aside for that patron. We recommend documenting any sort of queue externally in a way that works for your library.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out here or via email at tinycat@librarything.com.
Thanks for your patience!
