>1 bam2001: Great selection. I remember the clinx (cleavage sphinx) from Good Show Sir.
Cover 1: Political discourse is still pretty grim even when you have new, dancing symbols for the Democratic and Republican parties.

That is indeed random. Kind of surprised the Farmer wasn't one of our constant top 10 on GSS, it's even more disturbing than ISTBE.
I have known Silverberg slightly for decades and read him before that, and I don't recall any cheerful Claymation dancing dinos/dinophants in any of his books. I'm sure he had some acidic remarks about this one. I'm only surprised this one doesn't have the boobs, it's J'ai Lu.
The Golden Man appears to be built like another golden man named Oscar, IKYWIM. Is the US shield he's busting through made out of popcorn?
The last one is camp and since B.Chiclitz isn't here, I must say, jaunty hipped. Also they spelled Fred's name wrong.

That's "downward to Earth", which does have elephant-like Nildoror and sloth/bear/whatever-like Sulidoror. Don't recall any happy dances in it. Perhaps it's the children's edition, in which a Lesson is Learned without anyone getting anything worse than an ouchie.
#3: It's the Incredible Political Pundit! He's _always_ angry.

I am going to recommend to our county election officials that they use the cover from The Golden Man for the next Proposition General Election Publicity Pamphlet mailed out to the local populace, along with the motto, "Details Inside!"

#1 The little red guy looks so happy dancing, but I don't think the green elephant with a fancy crest feels the same. #thereisalwaysanelephant
#2 Nope
#3 If I were a man, I would be angry too if bubbles were dissolving my limbs and man-parts. The shield reminds me of my sister's initiation as the the Rainbow Girls President (or whatever they are called, not up on the terms), they all carried something similar done in crepe paper instead of a bouquet.
#4 Silly machine doesn't know that standing in lava melts your plastic covering.

>4 bam2001: I know. It's so perky and bright a cover for such a serious book. @Mrs.Lee is correct about the elephant looking grouchy.
Perhaps, like everyone back in the day, they were kung fu fighting.
Also, I'm wondering why it's all bilateral symmetry except for that extra tusk.
Heh about Pundit.
Pundit seems to be appearing from 1818 according to the number of stars. Probably angry that women and black people can vote. (insert your own joke)

>5 EndofDiskOne: I just got mine. All 144 pages of it. Plain old newsprint with a stylized ballot box on it like always.
Maybe you can get it changed for the midterms in 2 years (she said, hoping we still have them).
