Who has done reading on the War's aftermath?
I am thinking of books such as Paul Fussell's "The Great War and Modern Memory" and Charles Mowat's "Britain Between the Wars" (which is an unwieldy tome). However, these deal with the Great War's wake in the allied countries. Who has looked at the war's aftermath in the defeated countries? What happened in Germany, Austria-Hungary, Russia, and the Ottoman Empire? Here I'm thinking of Robert Gerwarth's "The Vanquished: Why the First World War Failed to End: 1917-1923."
Who else has explored this aspect of the Great War and what books would you recommend?
