iphone photos appear upside down

Want to put some pictures in my gallery, but they appear upside down when uploaded. I rotated a photo 180 degrees in the Windows photo program, and that *still* appears upside down. I don't see anything on this site that reflects the problem. Ideas?

LT's images module is pretty old so it does not read the direction part of the file data when adding images. The original image is upside down (iPhone tends to save images every which way), your phone and most modern softwares are just intelligent enough to know how to show them.

The only solution is to open them in an image editor and do a small change (resize a bit for example) to force a reset of the direction.

PS: When all you do is rotating the file, you just resave the same parameter LT does not read. Thus the need for a save that actually saves the file itself.

Didn't work. I made the picture slightly shorter in Windows Photo, saved, uploaded; still upside down.

Post over in Bugs collector or try editing with something else?

The problem is the direction not being recognized - sounds like Windows is getting cute and not resaving it when asked :(

On the iPad I can edit the picture right after taking it. I usually crop it a bit, and that works. Does the iPhone also let you do this?

I don’t know the reason you are having problems, but I turned your photo and uploaded it here

https://pics.cdn.librarything.com//picsizes/e4/59/e4591cd5a2d2f31637372423877426...

You can now save it and upload to your profile and it should be upright.

It usually works (from my iPhone 13) , if an image transfers to LT in the wrong orientation, if I make a change to the photo (resize/ rotate etc) and resave the photo - even if I rotate it through 360º, as long as I save it again.
