Any thoughts about how the body found by Big Eddie would fit with the story? Did you think Big Eddie would share what he found with Brian Lightfoot? Was Margaret right about handing it to the police?

If the body Big Eddie found was buried years ago it could fit it with the older story described at the beginning of each chapter. I think Margaret, Brian Lightfoot’s wife, forced Big Eddie to share with her husband. Margaret was right about handing what he found to the police.

Like Eadie, I’m guessing the body is historical.
I’m not sure Big Eddie was going to share his find, otherwise he’d have pointed it out to Brian already. Margaret was right to take custody of the ring. They’ll definitely have to show it to the police, it could help in identifying the body, or dating the burial.
I do think they should be calling the police today, Sunday or not. The police may question why they’d delay.

Have we met Big Eddie before? Or was there a big Eddie in one of the other series we read?

There is usually a historical angle to these stories so I agree that the body may be a very old one. Once having sighted the ring Big Eddie would probably not have shared his find had Brian not turned up.
Delaying informing the police definitely the wrong thing to do. It would arouse suspicion.

I to think the body will be historical, and linked to the historical element at the beginning of each chapter, which is usually the case with this series.
Definitely not going to share any proceeds with anybody.
