What was your overall impression and rating for the book?

I enjoyed it, we were given enough pointers to be able to put together theories, (whether right or totally off beam), unlike some books where most of the time we can only say “I haven’t got a clue what’s going on.” So ‘Thanks’ to Kate Ellis for that, 👏.
My final rating is 4.5★s.

I enjoyed it as well and thought that the handling of the cast of suspects held together very well. As I said earlier I could have done without the pretty awful Elizabethan-speak, but overall I think it was worth a
4.5

My final rating was 4.5. Unusual to actually be able to work out the killer, as opposed to the Ann Cleeves style of a sudden reveal which is a shock. I’m taking .5 of a star off for Pam’s dalliance 🤣
I felt this historical backdrop wasn’t quite as strong as in earlier books, and would have liked slightly shorter chapters. Doesn’t make splitting the book up easy!
