It seems like a hit, and the killer didn’t care if the body was discovered since the area is used as a hang out spot

>2 bluebird_: I agree that discovery of the body not a priority for the killer. The proximity to the Hollywood Bowl seems positively blatant.

From the books title. a 22 caliber pistol, two shots to the head looks like a mob hit, however no shoes and untied hands don't fit, could something be rotten in Denmark?

No shoes was suspicious (and perplexing - why would anyone take his shoes?), but otherwise it looked like a professional hit.

A body found in the trunk of a car with two shots in the head but no shoes is definitely suspicious to me.

It seemed to me that whoever killed him wanted it to look like a mob hit.

Like >4 JohnDBurke: and >5 Sergeirocks: I also thought that it was a professional hit but maybe it was "staged" to make it more difficult for the police. What happened to his shoes? Perhaps the killer thought that there would be something distinctive about the shoes...or perhaps they just needed a new pair:)
