No. He’s a detective through and through. Although he’s a pain to his superiors, he gets the job done so I didn’t see him being sidelined too long.

I was a bit surprised by his being given a senior role; I would have expected him to have in a more subordinate position given his controversial history with the department. I think he is regarded as a bit of a maverick, but on the other hand his new boss needs more closed cases and he is very good at his job.

I was not that surprised, being the series is written about him. He is a a good detective with good instincts. His hubris and lack of a life other than work would disqualify him in a leadership role under my command. A leader cannot be a loose cannon.

I think Maura sums it up well.

No but Bosch is somewhat of a maverick and I wouldn’t have him in a lesser role as he is good at what he does. I think he might be hindered in his job if you hold him back.

I think his experience outweighs his liabilities as a Lone wolf.

I agree with >7 Olivermagnus:...but on the other hand would you read a book in the Harry Bosch series without a Harry Bosch? They all know by now how Harry works and seniority does give him some leeway.
