Do you think the money laundering is connected to Aliso’s death? Could Mr X be responsible for his death? Why?

It could be a strong motive for his death. He might have been taken a larger commission on cleaning the money, cheating Mr X. The IRS investigation could lead to Mr X.

Yes I do think the money laundering is connected to Aliso's death and Mr X is responsible for this death and John is right that the IRS investigation could lead to Mr X.

It made sense since I assumed he was not in the mob himself, but on the periphery somehow.

I'd been waiting for something big to explain Aliso's death and this could well be it. Upsetting the guys behind the kind of money making schemes that need his services would not have been good for him.

His money laundering and the pending IRS audit are good motives for his murder. So far, all evidence is pointing in that direction. However i think there may be another reason—it seems early in the book to have this handed to us

If it’s a hit, it could be the key. But there’s still the question of his missing shoes…
>7 bluebird_: bluebird could be right about it being a bit early in the book.

>8 Sergeirocks: i keep forgetting about those missing shoes. They must be important. Something on or about them likely hold key evidence.
