Was Bosch right to be annoyed about the local police muscling in on his case?

It appears there is a lot of one up man ship among among varying police units. Everyone wants to be lead and get the credit. Of course Bosch would be annoyed, part of his hubris.

Bosch doesn't like people muscling in on his case. This is another typical reaction from Bosch.

This seems typical in almost all the crime novels I read.

Bosch is particularly keen to be seen to be doing well as this is his first big case after a long fallow period.

Don't these departments ever actually talk to one another?

Yes, it wasn’t right that Vegas bulldozed him. It’s his investigation, so there should have been more collaboration.

Does it matter who gets the bad guy, as long as the bad guy eventually answers for a particular crime?
