Should Bosch have got Powers a Lawyer when he kept asking for the phone?

He knew he had to, but played for more time to break Powers down.

I know this was just a story but I think once Powers asked for a lawyer, everything he said after that couldn't be used against him.

Yes. Bosch needed to push Powers, but It could have harmed the case brought against him. But once he brandished his gun and escaped custody he lost any leverage from that.

Those are the rules. He should have allowed Powers to call his lawyer. But then we wouldn’t have a story…
