Yes, yes. The point of this group is to eliminate books.
But as I go through the stacks, I am sampling each one I consider.
I might use post-its to note why I’m keeping certain books.
Consider this thread my collection of sticky notes.

What a chatty author! He addresses the Dear Reader charmingly. The first two chapters, as well as the subtitle, seem to misdirect one, as the heroine is only introduced in chapter three, and with quite a literary fanfare.

I don't think anyone is going to complain to the admins about it. (I would just pass the complaint on to my co-admin to deal with it as she saw fit, as long as she continues to be an admin.)

Three O’Clock Dinner starts with vivid descriptions of how sunlight flows and changes rooms and spaces. And almost a mocking recapitulation of The Melting of Molly’s first pages in the garden with her neighbor and his toddler son.

Next Door Neighbors
The first chapter introduces you to two households, side by side on a lovely old street, that contrast each other greatly. I see adventures with the three Drayton boys and the coming niece of Mayor Bolton.
We’ve met the motherless boys and the cooks in both households.
What an intriguing start.
(I may have read this already, as I see I’ve added some CK.)
