Went by our local village bookstore and bought
Serviceberry for my sis for Christmas
How They Linger: Stories of Unforgettable Souls by storyteller Donald Davis.
My husband bought a copy of James for both of us for Christmas.

From the FoL: In Spite of Myself: A Memoir by actor Christoper Plummer.

Found one I’ve been seeking for a while at our local pet rescue thrift where it was donated by the estate of the late musician Marty BalinLady into Fox by David Garnett. ♥️

I'm really enjoying The Last Line by Stephen Ronson, & just ordered 3 books he references in his author note:

* Betty's Wartime Diary 1939 - 1945 by Betty Armitage, ed. by Nicholas Webley
* Wartime: Britain 1939 - 1945 by Juliet Gardiner
* Digging Mrs. Miller: Some Experiences of an Air Raid Warden by John Strachey

And there are at least 4 others mentioned that I also want. So this was me being restrained.

My last purchases for the year:
* James: A novel by Percival Everett
* The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

I've read Huck Finn, but I might not already own it. I think I mostly have his nonfiction.

Happy New Year!

An ARC at the last minute: A Copycat Conundrum by Lisa Yee (pub Jan 2025; children's book). We'll see whether I like it any better than book 1, which I also had as an ARC -- before recycling it.
