Any thoughts on the 1989 storyline and how it could fit with the storyline of the book?

Jacob James is a Jamaican who is being held captive and Henryk Kowalshi is a Polish man who was beat up, so could it be someone who is targeting immigrants.

Is Jacob one of the bodies in the grave that has just been discovered? Racism is feeling a developing theme in this book so interested to find out why he is being held captive.

Apart from guessing he’s a candidate for the skeleton they’re digging up, I have nothing.

I agree with the thought that racism could well be at the heart of the novel. I also feel that Jacob could be buried in the grave.
