Bryant was surprised by Dawson and his questioning technique. Did you see him in a different light?

Bryant expected Dawson to be coarse and hard in his questioning but he showed some caring and sensibility which surprised him.

I think Dawson isn’t what he always seems, and can see why this surprised Bryant, but I’m not overly surprised.

To be honest, I can’t remember what Dawson was like before…

There is a strong contrast between the brash Dawson in the office and his attitude when questioning traumatised people in their home.
This was surprising but also a nuanced piece of character drawing.
