Was it wise for Bryant to have Henryk’s family at his house?

Humane, but not wise (and not very realistic outside of a work of fiction).

Probable not too smart in the current circumstances but he was concerned for their safety.

Not wise or a good idea, and could lead to disciplinary action if it was known. You can however understand that, no doubt he will be told as a policeman not to get emotionally involved.

It would make more sense to place him in a hotel, even if he paid for it himself. Even though Henryk and his family are nice, it's dangerous to let his family be put at risk.

It is a case of the heart ruling the head and there could be consequences for Bryant and his family.
