Was Kim right to let Stacey interview Flint? Why do you think Bryant and Dawson wouldn’t let her?

Kim was right, Stacey was a police officer and didn’t need to be mollycoddled.
I think Bryant and Dawson simply wanted to keep Stacey away from the hatred spewing from Flint’s mouth. It was misguided of them, but understandable.

They do have a tendency to treat her as a little sister but Kim is also at fault here. She keeps her on the computer and tech side of investigations which is where her strength lies. She has expressed interest before in becoming involved in the full investigation part of the crime. Once they see she can handle herself, they will grow more comfortable.

Yes while Bryant and Dawson were busy with Tracey Frost, Kim said to let Stacy interview Flint. Bryant and Dawson wanted to protect Stacy as Gary Flint was a racist and Stacy was black.

It takes Kim's arrival to get Stacey where she wants to be- an investigative officer. She is unlikely to be any more upset by Flint's nauseating outpourings than by any other racism she has suffered. Unfortunately she has seen it all.
Bryant and Dawson are misguided in their approach to Stacey, coming across as patronising a younger, female colleague.
