Should Kim have reported Travis for what he did? Should Travis have told Kim about his wife? Why do you think neither took these actions?

Yes but she didn’t report it because Kim said they were friends. Yes Travis should have told Kim but he didn’t tell Kim because he thought it was a private matter.

There wasn’t much to be gained by reporting Travis, and Kim knew this was not normal behaviour from him. She was not to know how things would escalate, because he didn’t confide in her the reasons for his behaviour. Things would have turned out much different if he had. Kim chose not to report him because of their friendship, but I can only imagine why he found it impossible to confide in her…

I feel that Travis must have been in a deeply emotional state following the devastating news about his wife's illness and could not cohfide in Kim as he literally could not articulate what had happened to cause his violent actions.
Kim cannot understand why he has behaved as he has but in the name of their friendship protects him from disciplinary action.
