Candle 13

A timeless classic for any kid:
the trees and streets all blanketed.

The snow gives way to wonders galore!
There's trails to make, and snowmen to adore.
There's hills to slide, and snowballs to pack
(with pockets to keep them), and trees to whack.

Oh my, what a glorious, wintry day.
Perhaps tomorrow, a dear friend can play.

More of an American classic. Though I'm a Brit I did know this one because friends gifted it to us when we were expecting our first child and I read it to both my kids so many times.

18 AnnieMod : #13 It won a major children books award in its year

23 AnnieMod : #13, especially for non Americans Caldecott Medals. Look for a likely title which actually fits the clue -- the title is very obvious.

104 closer : The first two lines describe the type of book you need to look for and give you the setting for the story. If you're not familiar with this book title, the author shares his last name with the famous poet who wrote Ode to a Grecian Urn
