"OK, you've successfully reanimated this severed head. Now maybe could you do something about its breath?"

Just think what Spock could have managed with stone knives, bearskins, and the head of one of the local winos.

That doesn't seem to be nearly enough equipment to reanimate a head.

Where's the oxygen coming from, and is the head glaring because there's no way to yell at these chumps without lungs?

Which means head probably doesn't have bad breath, but judging by skin color, the whole thing stinks.

I suppose it could be a mechanical head, but then why does it have hair? Painted on? And not sure why a robot head would cause them to recoil: perhaps it's a very early AI youtube pundit?

>4 bam2001: It does look more metal than flesh, which would make sense with the electrical equipment hooked up to it.*

Maybe they're early techbros and it's lecturing them on the evil of their robber baron ways, which makes them recoil. The really offended one looks like he's pulling one of the tubes out (aka pulling the plug); the other's wondering how the AI came to have morals.

*That part looks like a machine I saw in today's "Wild Wild West" rerun, invented by Dr. Loveless, of course.

"Joe, when I press this button, I don't want any of those brains splattering me!"
"Neither do I, Fred. Why do you think I'm ducking?"

These threads are much shorter, and I miss our old friends, but the comment quality is still high.

PS you missed a callback to the era by not calling Fred, Frank.

@bam2001: Maybe it's a tech descendant of Gilbert's brazen head?

>9 bam2001: It's really not that hard to figure out how it works here -- you and I are likely the oldest GSS'ers, and we both managed. Hrmph. But the world has become more unsettled of late...

Picked up a few of the LT people too (@clamairy, @MrsLee). As to who is the oldest GSS’er: I’ll be 76 in March
