Why would Polish intelligence be watching Stephanie and Cotton meeting Bunch?

I found this odd. I can see Polish Intelligence would be interested in what the Americans were up to, but not exactly where they were at that particular moment. It's too early to have anything but a vague feeling at this point.

I would have been surprised if the Polish Intelligence WASN'T watching them. I don't think it was so much because they were Americans, although that probably contributed to it...but because they were strangers with an interest in something that belonged to the Polish people.

I believe the Polish Intelligence has knowledge of the reason behind the thefts and the U.S. is involved.

They were watching them because we found out that Bunch is closest to the president of the U.S. but Cotton also has the highest clearance.

I'm not sure why Polish intelligence is involved. And so openly. Maybe they don't trust Bunch? Or maybe they are aware of the theft and are waiting to see what Cotton and Stephanie will do?

I would agree with all of these comments. A certain wariness of these large and powerful nations is to be expected at any time and the theft of something of great symbolic value to their country is going to make intelligence services very edgy.
