Any thoughts on how Cotton treated the American President? Why do you think he was still doing what they wanted?

I think, at first, he was vocal about his feelings because he didn't realize he was on speaker. I don't think he would deliberately say that stuff to him in person. Cotton is the kind of man who would respect the Office of the President, if not the president himself, who is clearly an asshole.

I think Cotton was a bit embarrassed when he realized he was on the speaker and then decided to continue doing what he wanted to do.

Agree with >2 Olivermagnus: and >3 EadieB: Cotton did not at first realize Fox was on the phone and could hear him on speaker, once he knew he could't help himself, has no respect for Fox.

I agree with >2 Olivermagnus:. The office of the President would always have Cottons respect...as it does most Americans...but the man occupying that office? He has to earn it.

Cotton was clearly far from happy with the situation, and this annoyance showed through especially when he realised he had been tricked with the phone call. His opinion of Fox is no doubt shared by us all. Like before was only doing it for Stephanie and because he doesn’t lie to turn his back on a situation.

I agree that he respects the office of President but not the holder of that office. He has contempt for the reckless behaviour Fox and Bunch and this bleeds through in his phone responses to the President.

>3 EadieB: I agree here, and then his anger at being tricked like that came out in what he said to Fox. He's probably also upset because Fox is so unworthy of his office and he definitely does not respect Fox.
