Why did you think Cotton had to go through with the theft when he knew Sonia would be there? What do you think her plan was ? What about Cotton’s plan?

I am clueless about either one's plans but I think Cotton will risk a lot to save Stephanie.

I think Cotton planned to get the Spear of St Maurice. I think Sonia was trying to see who got the Spear.

It is part of his plan also if he didn't Fox would come down hard on Stephanie.

Again, Cotton will protect Stephanie no matter the cost to himself.

It all feels like game playing and having to play a part. As other’s have said Cotton is doing it to protect Stephanie, and Sonia wants in on the action, or at least to know where it is.
