My two favorite features in this mish-mash of images are the Far Future Corvair Van in the bottom left and the veiny forehead in the top right.
The rest is just bonus material depicting our current historical trajectory at this point.

Laser gun battle on the slope of Mount Internal Organ!
Some fairly solid 1950s modernist architecture going on there on the right, reminding us of the yawning pit of retrofuturism that lies ahead of any science fiction work.

Sheesh! Someone backed the retrofuturistic bus into the side of the mountain there. And the wheels have fallen off. Unless it's a flying bus, and if so, why are there wheelwells on it?

Two-faced Gray and Bloody Man/Normal Guy is the most puzzling thing to me. Especially with them hovering over the concert center/shopping mall.
Presuming this is shortly post-war, should they really have used a guy who looks so much like a Brown Shirt on the cover? And why are he and shadowy man on the roadway the bus has just run off of? And what all is apparently exploding on the background?
I was thinking, "don't I know that name from somewhere else?" and indeed he was a screenwriter on both Twilight Zone and Star Trek, plus a lot of what looks like terrible B-movies. All of which undoubtedly paid more than SF novels did.

I recall reading Costigan's Needle: the titular needle was a device which accidentally teleports a bunch of people (including Costigan) to another planet. It does not seem to have held my interest, because I'm unsure if they get back to Earth or not. (I also think I remember it sending people in the nude, but I may be getting it mixed up with another book)

@bam2001: A quick search says: naked yes, return no. I too most vaguely recall reading it and remembered less than you.
