One of the first Terry Pratchett Discworld books I ever read. I particularly like how the artist took someone referring to Twoflower as "four eyed" (because he's wearing glasses) and actually gave him four eyes.

That would be Josh Kirby. Don't you love all the darling little legs on the Luggage!

Josh Kirby's Discworld stuff really isn't my cup of tea, but YMMV
I will give him the feet, tho'.

That is indeed worthy of GSS. I don't recall Twoflower actually having 4 eyes spread across his face. Chinese tourist guy IIRC. Most of the people look bugeyed regardless of the number of oculi. At least he can draw feet... although several of them don't match the others.
I'd never have picked this up, being put off by the art. It doesn't say "goofy but very clever and well-written fantasy", it says "goofy and terrible fantasy suitable only for the least-discriminating nerdboys". As a grown woman who'd already voted for the Hugos a few times, I'd have given it a wide berth even though I had "Strata" in hardcover.
Nevertheless, being introduced to pterry once by a mutual friend was a major highlight of my Worldcon-attending career.

>4 GSSex-noob: The edition of "The Colour 1 of Magic" I first encountered had a much less off-putting cover: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4d/The_Colour_of_Magic_%28cover_art%...

The artist was seeking to make up the deficit for all the other artists who found feet too difficult to draw.

>5 bam2001: I think that might have been the one I saw first. It says "wacky fun" but not "stupid fun".
It appears to be the original one released, according to ISFDB.

>1 bam2001: Had I seen this 20 years ago, before I knew about Pratchett and Discworld, I would not have been interested, but knowing what I do now about Kirby and the Pratchett world, I would snatch it up and treasure it.
