Sevyn’s (suddenlysquelch’s) rambles over books

hi, as the subject suggests…i ramble. alot.
anyway! hello, im sevyn :) im pretty new to all this.
but as of now i am started Stephen Kings novel ‘Desperation’ about an insane cop meeting an insane guy!
recently finished Kings ‘Insomnia’ too, for a school project specifically. (No, you cannot find most stephen king books in my school library, i buy them all myself even if they did have it. i dont like being on a two week limit).
i take my time with books. since im a kid, of course id rather spend my time playing games and being with friends then reading books- but when theres moments of ‘hm, no one is up to anything…ill read for a bit.’
its that, or i make plans myself with friends.
excited to be here though :)
maybe someone will wanna listen to my rambles lol
oh yeah! i wanna do a ‘song of the day’ type thing.

You’re ahead of me, you already have started a thread. A warm welcome. I would love to hear more about your experience reading King.

the few books i have as a physical copy are the green mile, desperation, insomnia, and IT.
although in my library theres all the lists of the books by him i have read.

awew man!!! my power went out from these stupid wind storms- and the sky is all red and cloudy from SMOKE !
it went out this morning, and now its 11pm with me charging my phone in the car.
ugggghhh

well finally my power came back on! just as i was about to read with a flashlight, too…
i get distracted easily when it comes to things like books- i enjoy them, dont get me wrong. theyre just sometimes so easy to close and procrastinate with, especially when everytime i say “ohh ill finish it later.”
hah! as if.
i have another book project coming up thats due in may…jesus i hate book projects. like a ticking time bomb (or a death clock, wink wink) in the back of my mind!!!!
DO NOT RUSH ME TO FINISH A BOOK! i cry easily. 🙁

>1 suddenlysquelch: Hey Seyvn, welcome to CR! I see you're making your way through the Stephen King classics—great choice! He’s a legend for a reason. If you ever feel like branching out, a few of us around here dewell in the darker side of fiction

>6 dchaikin: hey! its all good now. it was just our part of the neighborhood that was out.😭
the book project is pretty simple, you read a book, and then do a book review video on the book you JUST read; the next part is the creative activity, which you choose one of eight different things to do that revolves around your book.
the creative activity im doing is the CD cover one- where you draw a cd cover, choose 8 songs that remind you of the book, and explain why every song reminds you of it!
its pretty easy, i just procrastinate alot.

alright; update.
just finished chapter two and i actually shut the book and questioned some things for a good minute…
one damn good book!
id say more but i dont wanna end up spoiling it for someone…that is not my intention.
anywho; how about a song of the day?

Welcome! I read a few King books when I was in high school, then didn’t read any more for a long time. Then I got sucked into the tomes of the Dark Tower series. Wowzer

had to give up desperation to start reading a new book for my book project, and i guess i thought it was a good idea to just now get atarted reading it at 10pm , 2 days before the due date. 😒
whatever. i gotta lock in. byebye!

hey fellas … sorry for just, disappearing. summer started and ive been living it to the fullest. been going through a rough time so i kinda just stopped reading in general. i plan on getting back to it though, so expect more updates, especially from maybe four books that im reading right now.

Desperation, The Dead Zone, The Stand, and The Shining.

Did you know I got my copy of The Dead Zone for 4 dollars? funny thing about that is, its an original 1979 copy… Big fan of that, actually. Probably my favorite movie by Stephen King.

more updates to come, maybe.

>16 suddenlysquelch: I’d you know that Stephen King’s You Like It Darker took him 45 years to finish.

ETA Just realised this is a collection of short stories.

Personally, the best thing I think about King is Jack Nicholson in The Shining yelling "Here's Johnny!".

>18 kjuliff: insane!!! 45 years?

the main thing i think of when i hear stephen king is christopher walken screaming “the ice is gonna break!”

im a big fan of the dead zone, if you couldnt tell.

>20 suddenlysquelch: I’ll have to put that one on my wish list.

I reading a book now where a pink mouse suddenly jumps out of a bowl of squashed tomatoes and runs across the counter-top down the side across the floor and out the window. I’m not sure if the woman is hallucinating. The mousse had no tail.
