Does anyone have a take on the Morganville Vampires series?
I just finished the first book and am halfway through the second. I'm enjoying the story line but the writing is nothing special. It almost moves a little too fast.
I definitely like Shane, though.

I have read all of them except for the newest one, which I have yet to buy. I loved them all. Yes, they did at times seem like only mediocre, and I actually thought that they moved a little too slow. Maybe that was just me?
I am totally in love with Shane also! I cant' wait to see where the next book will take their relationship-- and the plot.

I read the first one and thought it was nothing special. Not bad, but not worth the effort of getting the rest. They seem very obviously YA.

I really do enjoy them although I'm not crazy about cliffhangers. My favorite character is Michael! I do like Shane as well but there is something about a musician with a tortured soul that really appeals to me :-)

Lol. Yes, Michael has his own appeal too!

I've read the four that are out now. I really enjoyed them quite a bit. And unlike many books, the first is not the best in my opinion. I really liked the last one Feast of Fools. The writing is still mediocre but the plot and characters are very good in my opinion.

Anyone else have an opinion on the series? I'm almost finished with the first book and I'm wondering if I should stick with the series. I like sexy vampires more than scary ones.

I have read them all and you will not find the character till the end of the series but Myrnin was probably my favourite all around character. A lot of authors have trouble connecting one sequel to the next but Caine seems to thrive on adding momentum instead of losing it from one book to the next.

I've been reading through them. I read Glass Houses when it first came out and enjoyed it, so decided to stash the next few in the series before reading again. It was a bad habit of mine. I came across them in a cheap bookshop where they were 3 for £5 so bought up to Ghost Town and got on with reading them. I am currently still struggling through Ghost Town I think I'm finding the Claire/Shane relationship a bit too sickening, so I am taking a little break.
I have enjoyed the series so far, I love Myrnin, but did feel the relationships were a bit too mushy for my tastes.
I've also heard that she has signed on for three more books after Black Dawn so this series looks like it will still be here a little while longer.

I just finished Feast of Fools last week. I think the series gets better as it progresses. I didn't care too much for the first book, but it was interesting enough to feel that I should continue it. After I am done emptying my pockets on Christmas, I will be buying the rest of the series and continuing. I love the edition of Myrnin and I'm sure he will be playing a bigger role in the other books after Feast of Fools--can't wait to see where Caine is going to take Myrnin's character.

Just got Glass Houses from the library today on audio book so I'm hoping it will be a fun listen :)
