In. Reading The Taking of K-129 (Cold War/submarine history), Red Bones (mystery), Incredible Stories at the Bus Stop: A Flash Fiction Collection on Human Experience (LT Early Reviewers short story collection), and This Is How You Lose the Time War (SciFi bookgroup read). Finding the last to be a challenging read, not as pleasurable as anticipated. Maybe I'll feel different by the end!

Finally sitting down to read.
The “Hands Off!” rally was great. About a thousand gathered & marched in the small town of Pittsboro NC.
It was hot, l walked a lot; now my feet are tired! I was going to another ‘march for democracy’ later this afternoon. May save that one for next week. I’m also cat-sitting this weekend. Besides the 2 at my house l have to run over and feed my niece’s cat.
Breakfast: cheerios, strawberries.
Lunch: leftover pizza.

I did reasonably well this weekend despite finishing only one book. Made significant progress on The Museum of Innocence and Tell Me Everything.

Weekend summary:
Books read from: The Taking of K-129, Red Bones, Incredible Stories at the Bus Stop: A Flash Fiction Collection on Human Experience, This Is How You Lose the Time War, Hellcats of the Sea
Books finished: 2 - Red Bones and This Is How You Lose the Time War
Time reading: a couple hours Fri & Sat, and most of Sunday
Thoughts: Really enjoying the Lockwood's Hellcats of the Sea, written in 1955, but reading it slowly. I learned quite a bit about FM Sonar usage and how it got onto submarines. And, no, I'm not usually a tech geek, so Lockwood definitely has a successful way of presenting his story.
Non-book activities: Marty Stuart & his Fabulous Superlatives at a quirky local venue, At The Tabernacle. I enjoy the venue - only musical masters play there.
Total books finished: 2
Total read from: 5
Total time reading: 12-15h, didn't track time

I was unable to join the group this weekend for various reasons, but here is my weekend wrapup.
Weekend Wrapup
Books read from: I continue reading Schulz and Peanuts by David Michaelis at my 2 pages per day I have almost managed to get to the halfway mark on this 600 page biography. My computer book remains Eating My Way Through Italy by Elizabeth Minchilli. I finished Birth of the Pill: How Four Crusaders Reinvented Sex and Launched a Revolution by Jonathan Eig. I started reading One Virgin Too Many by Lindsey Davis. I am listening to Digging to America by Anne Tyler and am enjoying that book as well. I am also listening to 1776 by David McCullough.
Books finished: One Virgin Too Many by Lindsey Davis
Book Thoughts: I wasn't close to my computer all weekend so didn't make any reports. However, I did get some reading done. I finished Birth of the Pill and enjoyed it. It was a fine example of narrative nonfiction.
Non-Book Activities: The weekend was an overall disappointment in productivity. I did get my taxes done and am disappointed in the amount of money I owe. I knew it was coming but I didn't think the hit would be that bad. It was. To add to my woes, I have contracted a cold and am feeling miserable. I spent most of yesterday and today laying about on the couch. Of course, a good portion of that was spent reading, but it felt like I was very unproductive.
