Please nominate books for our group reads for May and June 2025, and second as many nominated books as you like.

I have the following books coming up if anyone wants to second any: The Regent's Wife - Leopoldo Alas, Giles Goat-Boy - John Barth, Blue Noon - Georges Bataille, How It Is - Samuel Beckett and Humboldt's Gift - Saul Bellow.

>1 puckers: You have, impressively, listed five books I have not read and am somewhat avoiding either due to length (TRW & GGB) or due to dislike of the author's other novels (BN, HII). HG I started a few years ago and then set aside and never felt compelled to pick up again.

I'm planning on reading soon: At Swim-Two-Birds, The Castle, The Opposing Shore, or Uncle Petros and Goldbach's Conjecture.

La Regenta is on my TBR list but it's very long and my book group is reading Mansfield Park in May and Anna Karenina in June so I can't take on another huge tome. I'd always read another Beckett, though, so I second How It Is. I'd love to read The Castle too, but possibly not until July.

My reading schedule is rather daunting! I am determined to read Pallieter when I'm in Belgium at the end of this month because it is a (very obscure) Belgian work. I am not, however, going to England in May or Russia in June...

You know, I am also going to second La Regenta for May. I can listen to Mansfield Park on audio.

Based on the discussion above our group reads will be La Regenta by Leopoldo Alas (May), How It Is by Samuel Beckett (June) and The Castle by Franz Kafka (July).
