What are you reading in May 2025?

I've been out of the loop on Groups for a while (too much going on personally/professionally to participate in this facet of LT) and it seems like this group has been quiet for a bit now too.

Got a little more free time back this month so I've used it wisely to catch up on some comics :)

So far in May I've read ...

Jo: An Adaptation of Little Women, which was fine. The illustrations were meh and the story really is just a twist on the early parts of Little Women, but I think it's a nice enough way to introduce it to younger readers with some modern trappings.

A Stepmother's Marchen, reading volume 5 this time (and awaiting volume 6, which doesn't publish until December). Not usually a fan of manga per se and this is my first foray into manhwa; I enjoy the fun escapism of this series.

Honor Girl, which I had on my TBR pile for ages and I can't even remember why anymore (perhaps someone in this group recommended it long ago?). Again, the illustrations weren't good but the story held my attention from start to finish, wondering where it would go.

Lunar New Year Love Story, which I just started but I couldn't resist the team up of Gene Luen Yang and LeUyen Pham, both creators whose works I've enjoyed previously.

Yikes, it has been so long that I almost forgot how touchstones work!

What is everyone else reading in May 2025?

Finished Lunar New Year Love Story and it was delightful. Highly recommend.

I also read Spider-Gwen: Greater Power, which was pretty disappointing. Don't like when "volume 1" picks up in the middle of a story started elsewhere and I just felt like it was 'meh' overall.

I am reading Battle Angel Alita Deluxe Edition 2. Great sci-fi, great art!

Now I'm reading Watchmen.
Neither of these are new to me (these particular books are new), but it's been a long time since I last read them.

I'm (mostly re-) reading the Marvel Omnibus edition of the Posehn/Duggan Deadpool run. The book is huge and I want it off my TBR stack, because my TBR stack lives on my nightstand!

My reading has been light on comics this month; I've only read Hereditary Triangle by Fumiya Hayashi, which was sweet.

The newest Franka album, Cliffhanger, just came out in Denmark, so I reserved it at the library. Fingers crossed it won’t take too long.

I just finished reading Unico: Awakening. It's so interesting to see Osamu Tezuka's work with a fresh take. I really hope this one catches on with young readers!
