This is a thread for general discussion of Salinger's 1953 short-story collection Nine Stories. Which story are you most inclined to reread these days? For me it's "De-Daumier Smith's Blue Period," which fascinates me as Salinger's earliest published foray into the themes of artistic and spiritual mysticism which would preoccupy his subsequent stories. "Teddy" and "Uncle Wiggily In Connecticut" are the other two I've returned to in recent years, and "Pretty Mouth and Green My Eyes" also intrigues as a possible path not taken for JDS, depicting everyday adults in sordid personal circumstances.
