Can we have a thread on Anglophiles in History?

I would start it off with the Federalists, led by Alexander Hamilton, who were opposed by the Francophiles, led by Thomas Jefferson, in George Washington's first term.

Since I consider Sir Winston Churchill one of the greatest statesmen of the 20th Century, maybe Franklin Delano Roosevelt is a modern example.

Robert Gordon Menzies, Australia's Prime Minister during the fifties and in the lead up to WWII. Know as Pig Iron Bob for selling iron to the Japanese, Menzies was a big fan of Queen Elizabeth and all things English.
