From eBay Journey to Mauritius
From Princeton University Press because I read a review in the London Book Review The Study The Inner Life of Renaissance Libraries
From the FoL Ray, A Standard Swahili-English Dictionary, and Napoleon's Hemorrhoids: And Other Small Events that Changed History. Touchstones are being uncooperative.

>1 varielle: How many languages are you studying?? (For me, 5, but so far not Czech or Swahili.)

One bought book, which reminds me of a Stuart Turton book I read: The Man Who Died Seven Times by Yasuhiko Nishizawa, translated by Jesse Kirkwood.

>2 ReneeMarie: I seem to have a thing about collecting dictionaries of unusual languages. Right now just studying German and Hungarian. I still kick myself for leaving behind a Hawaiian dictionary on a trip to Kauai.

Got in the mail from eBay today a Folio Society edition of Lark Rise to Candleford.

One bought book: The Mystery of the Crooked Man by Tom Spencer. Total impulse. I judged a book by its cover.

Life Stories: Profiles from the New Yorker from the FoL.
Books a Million is ready for Halloween so I picked up the Aleister Crowley Collection. From eBay The Great Hill Stations of Asia.

An ARC (pub 9/25) came home with me today: The Healing Hippo of Hinode Park by Michiko Aoyama.

ETA: Read this one, liked it well enough, but returned the ARC to the bookstore.

Oops, I'm a little behind & I didn't actually buy because our church was giving it away free, but August 24, I picked up 33 Days to Eucharistic Glory. That's been the most recent addition to our library.
