"Nah, I'm good man - I can move the pieces without your help."

Hm. Musician guy on the right seems to have the animals on his side, though leopard there is more interested in grooming than chess.

The bird is trying to be polite and wait for the game to end before murdering him, but it's getting really impatient with his overly cautious play style.

Listen, in the next few days, if anyone posts a cover to a certain Ian Fleming book, I'm turning this webpage right around. Or asking someone else to.

What's wrong with having a Thunderball Goldfinger week?

In honor of GSSex-noob, in October we should have a “cat” week, if you know what I mean.

>12 bam2001: I am mildly disappoint. Usually you're so much better at this than I am! And I know you're old enough to remember the movie and song.

Also sometimes I listen to the classic rock station.

Is that chess? The pieces look rather unconventional. And apparently they're made of uranium glass.

(Huh. Perhaps we're misinterpreting those two dudes - maybe they're gods or demons or djinn and are playing to decide who gets to administer revenge)

(Peak Bond racism, but I did enjoy Geoffrey Holder's performance.)

@bam2001: Dude on the right is definitely not fussed by big leopard, humungous bird, and radioactive chess. Dude on left is not happy; this is definitely a good v. evil thing. I'd say this is a case of "let the Wookiee win", the way the bird is.

Roger Moore wrote a book (compiled from his newspaper columns) during the making of L&LD. It was surprisingly non-racist and non-sexist for the day (and not bad today), I read it a couple of years ago. He quite understood why the people in Harlem were the way they were. And of course, who didn't love Geoffrey Holder? Very honest about the physical damage he took during that, and always kind about the local people. It's in KU, I think.

>18 GSSex-noob: I'm not casting aspersions on Sir Roger Moore. 1 The movie on the other hand... (You have to admit it's kind of hilarious how every black man in New York - aside from the CIA guy - appears to be working for Mr. Big. :) )
1 A man with a sense of humor about himself. He once said that he played Bond with only two expressions - raised eyebrow and "about to be bitten by Jaws."

>19 bam2001: He seemed like a very cool chap. I read his autobiography too. Couldn't believe an English guy born that long ago who voted Tory was so broad-minded.

However, when you got a bunch of whiteys trying to do Blaxploitation, and many of them are British... well, they didn't all live up to Sir Rog's standards.

Song's still a banger, though, which is why I hear it on the oldies station.
