Has anybody else noticed the growing phenomenon of “shadow banning”? Many books that are publicly banned get a large readership of curious people.
Today, there are many books that get actively ignored and/or even prohibited for inclusion by collection development people. In many cases, the same people that decry book banning, ban books because of their own political views. Isn’t it free speech for all?
Specifically, I am referring to Jewish interest titles (not Israeli, and not political books). What can be done? Any comments?
