What is your first impression of Terry McCaleb?

It’s difficult to get a handle on this man, with no specific cop-work yet going on. His inability to dash around, turning over rocks to see what crawls out, is limiting how much can be surmised about his character.
I don’t get the impression he was a man of action, even before his heart problems - more a man for ‘working things out’.

It seems he’s in retirement but early because of his heart problem. He has been asked for help with a project but he doesn’t want to get involved. He gets asked again and then decides he won’t charge and gets into helping work on the project. He seems like he’ll be all in soon as I believe he misses his job.

I agree with >3 EadieB:. Once a cop always a cop. He's more level-headed than some of the others we've encounter. He seems to think before he acts.

I also have the impression that he’s more brain than brawn. Seems like a good thing for an FBI investigator. I definitely see him as going all in on this investigation- just hope he can get assistance from others to do the heavy lifting, running, chasing….
