That's some great 80s hair. I didn't even have to look up the book to know the time period. Nicked from Miami Vice, innit?
@NomadUK: Probably about the same, or with a KH/GH sound and even more inexplicable spelling.
(I don't know Irish, but have a smattering of closely-related Scottish Gaelic, and *clearing throat noises*)

Apparently, a novel which posits the bold theory that the Formorians1 were Robot Aliens, or maybe Alien Robots. 2 Presumably they were less successful in Ireland than the Reptoids were in England.
