Any initial thoughts why the getaway car was not given to the media? How competent did events around the murder seem?

No idea why police would have withheld the details of the car.
Winston seems to have done all she could in the investigation. It’s a pity (and a very bad error) that the 911 operator made a mistake, causing a delay in the responders arriving on scene, but I doubt the man could have been saved.

We'll never know if he could have been saved or not:( If you committed a crime, would you drive around in a car that could possibly be identified by someone? People that commit crimes like robbery or murder usually change cars on a pretty regular basis, even if they have to steal one, which is usually the case. I bet that 911 operator is now standing in line to collect her unemployment.

It’s a tough call. Do you release details of the car and perhaps lose the only lead you have because the killer saw the news and dumped the cae? Or do you think all the press will lead to someone bringing some worthwhile evidence in. I’m not a professional, but tend to think withholding the info initially is the right move.
