Was McCaleb risking his life by continuing with the investigation? Should he have called Bonnie Fox?

I think he could give it an hour of rest at home, to see if his temperature goes down, it could simply be elevated due to his set-to with Bolotov. (Fingers crossed.)
As for risking his life? He’s investing a murder, he runs the risk of running foul of a killer. In his weakened state he’s definitely putting himself at risk! (And Bolotov now knows his address is at the marina; not too difficult to find McCaleb, given that information…)

He shouldn't even be on this case, or maybe on ANY case...but this IS a story. He was certainly told after the transplant what he should and shouldn't do and what to do if something should occur. Of course, being male... (sorry Sergei and Andrew), he'll do whatever he wants. He's the major character here so it stands to reason that he'll be okay...unless there's only going to be one book...is it still a "series" if it's only one???? (Fingers crossed anyway)

I don’t have any idea what McCaleb was thinking about by handling Bolotov the way he did. I don’t think he should have called Bonnie Fox. You know what she is going to say to McCaleb.

He shouldn’t be out there at all, certainly not interrogating a potential suspect! He should have called Dr Fox, but he’s right in thinking she would have brought him in and stopped his investigation. Obviously she heard something—or knows him well enough to know what he’s up to. Her threat to fire him as a patient is her best move to try to get him to take care of himself.
